Forest Bathing Walk in Goblin Combe


This takes place the day after September Equinox, marking the shift from summer into autumn. This forest bathing experience is the perfect way for you to unwind and reconnect with the changing seasons and beautiful natural world.

What’s forest bathing?

Forest bathing is an outdoor wellness activity where people spend time in peaceful woodland areas and practice mindfulness. It first originated in Japan. Scientists discovered that time spent in forests – slowing down and tuning into our senses – improved both our physical health and emotional wellbeing.

Forest bathing is said to reduce stress, relieve anxiety and give your wellbeing a much-needed boost! After all, forests are the perfect place to try mindfulness. They are places where you can truly see the magic of the seasons changing all around you.

Our guide for the day will be Lindsey – Dorset Forest Bathing – who has 10 years of experience in Wildlife Conservation and recently trained as a Forest Bathing Guide with the desire to ‘encourage a deep connection with nature for all people, in order to benefit emotional and physical wellbeing.’

What to expect:

  • Full day nature retreat
  • Be led on a forest bathing walk by a trained guide, experienced in mental health work and mindfulness
  • Learn and practise mindfulness techniques you can use everyday
  • Explore the edges of Goblin Combe – a 130+ acres of woodland of that is a Site of Nature Conservation Importance (SNCI) AND a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)
  • Enjoy a private site with 8 acres of beautiful woodland and fields, just outside of Bristol for the comforts of hot drinks, water, toilets, and fire area where we’ll enjoy our tea and cake after the walk
  • Stop for a packed lunch in the serene woods
  • Round off the day with tea and cake and a group chat around a fire!

Take some time out to appreciate what nature has to offer in this guided nature connection walk. You’ll be encouraged to try some mindfulness and sensory exercises, and you’ll slow down to explore the woods in a small group.

This experience will be rounded off with tea/coffee and homemade cake (from a local independent) together round the fire. There will be the invitation to share with the group how the experience was for you. You are also welcome to stay for an extra hour at the end to enjoy the space for a bit longer (3-4pm).

This experience is made for beginners, so no prior experience is necessary! Please wear sturdy footwear and bring a packed lunch.

Dietary requirements
If you have any dietary requirements (for hot drinks + cake), please include them in the notes section when booking.

This event will only be cancelled in bad weather if there are dangerously high winds or the weather is deemed dangerous for our activity. You will be contacted ASAP if this is the case.
