2021 Printed A3 Calendar

An illustrated nature-inspired foraging and slow living calendar to walk you through the seasons.

My hope is that this calendar will help you to see and enjoy the beauty in each month – nature around us, the colours, the wildlife, the things to celebrate, seasonal veg to eat and wild plants to forage. May the prompts act as reminders as well as introduce you to new things.

I have included all bank holidays for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, moon phases and a selection of cultural and religious days and events.

I have included ideas for what you can forage for each month, seasonal veg to enjoy, and things that our wild creatures might be up to! Bear in mind that things happen at different times across the country and so these reminders might sometimes be early or late for you. Some things are also available all year round, so see this as a guide and starting point rather than a rule book.

You might like to mark on the calendar when you first spotted something (like the 1st blackberry) that year so that you can compare year to year when things happen in your local area.

There are also some blank boxes at the top of the calendar where you can write in whatever you like. Perhaps it might be:

  • What to do in the garden / home
  • Shopping list
  • Doodles
  • Meal ideas
  • Seasonal bucket list
  • What you’ve spotted in the garden / on walks
  • To do list
  • Space to stick a picture
  • Anything else 🙂

I can’t wait to find out what you’ll use these spaces for – do send me an email or tag me on Instagram @wild__folk.

The calendar is A4 when closed, A3 portrait when open (297mm by 420mm height).

The dates are in the bottom half of the calendar in a grid format. (I hope to bring out a ‘family’ multiple columns version for next year.)

There is a small hole at the top for hanging the calendar, or space has been allowed for clipping it, e.g. on your fridge.

It is printed on thick FSC certified paper (it turns out that recycled paper isn’t necessarily always more eco-friendly but FSC certified is a really good way to go).

The calendar is bound with staples in the centre and is fully recyclable.

It is illustrated with beautiful vintage artwork from old books, similar to those in the example page above.

I created the brief for this project and my designer and artist sister (and musician and many other things) Cat, designed it. Check out her website at for more of her work.
